France has produced some of the most famous literary writers across the globe and their works have been some of the most influential components of the world literature. France and India have several literary links from past and we are aware that in 19th century, French scholar Joseph Garcin de Tassy’s work formed the foundation of French linguistic and literary knowledge of Hindi/Urdu. In this context, the creation of 'DES PLUMES PRESS' is intended to reintroduce and translate different kinds of works for a new generation of the readers of Hindi language.

Almost everyone does agree that classic literature has a place in present and the future. Classic literature is important today, not only because it shows us where we came from, but also because it looks toward where we might go. Same time, we can not ignore contemporary texts and the 'DES PLUMES PRESS' is motivated to balance between two segments.

In fact `French literature’ consists of several geographical segments and we find it extremely important to come out with wide range of projects, which are valuable beyond geographical boundaries.
